LiftLux

Made to move like you do

Most training gear fails the moment you move.

The short, the legging, the bra. What follows is how LiftLux is built, and what it is built against.

Chapter two

You already know the moment.

Rep nine. You are set, you are braced, and part of your head is on your waistband instead of the bar.

Or it is the walk between machines and the hem is already creeping. Or it is the bottom of a squat and you are hoping the fabric held. You check. Every single time.

That check costs you the set.

A woman standing at the end of a heavy set beside a loaded barbell on a chalked gym floor, hands on her hips, catching her breath.
The last thing on your mind before a heavy set should be your breath. Not your gear.

Chapter three

Six ways your gear fails you.

  1. It rolls down.

Third set in, the waistband folds over on itself and starts travelling south. Now you are lifting and holding your kit up at the same time.

  2. It digs in.

A band that is too narrow has to grip harder to stay put. You can still see the mark in the car park.

  3. It rides up.

The hem creeps between your thighs on the walk between machines, and by the second circuit it is chafing.

  4. It goes see-through.

Thin fabric stretched over a deep squat stops being fabric. You usually find out from somebody else's photograph.

  5. It holds sweat.

It soaks, it stays wet, and it is still wet when you get in the car.

  6. It needs adjusting.

Every one of the above ends the same way. You stop reaching for them, and they live at the bottom of the drawer.

Every one of those is a construction problem. Not a you problem.

Chapter four

Structure first. Then fabric. Then fit.

Close detail of the wide high-waist band lying completely flat against the skin of a lifter's lower back, chalk dust across it.

The waistband

A wide anti-roll band on every piece — the short, the legging, the bra. Cut wide enough to lie flat instead of folding. It holds without gripping, so it does not roll and it does not leave a mark.

Close detail of the seamless knit running unbroken over a bent knee, the fabric stretched and still opaque.

The knit

Seamless, four-way stretch, knitted in one piece. It moves with the joint instead of stretching flat across it, and it stays opaque at full stretch. No panels to split, no seams to chafe.

Close detail of a garment hem sitting flat against the skin, held by a fine grip band along the inside edge.

The finish

Silicone grip inside the short's hem. A bonded flat hem on the legging. A soft mesh band under the bra. Different jobs, one rule: nothing travels, so nothing chafes.

Nylon with Lycra or spandex. Four-way stretch. Moisture-wicking. Seamless. Sizes S to XL.

None of that counts until it holds at the bottom.

A woman under a loaded barbell on a lifting platform, descending into a deep back squat, the fabric of her training shorts stretched taut and completely opaque.

All the way down, under load, and back to the same place every rep. This is the only test that settles it.

Squat proof. Fully opaque. Every rep.

Worn here: LiftLux, at the bottom of a squat. Seamless, four-way stretch, fully opaque.
